狗牙根 Cynodon dactylon
禾本科 Poaceae
Cynodon dactylon, also known as Bermuda grass or Scutch grass, is a type of grass. Bermuda grass has grey-green blades that are short, usually 2–15 cm long, with rough edges. The erect stems can grow 1–30 cm tall and are slightly flattened, often tinged purple. The seed heads form in clusters of two to six spikes at the top of the stem, each spike being 2–5 cm long. It has a deep root system, sometimes extending over 2 meters deep in drought conditions, though most roots are within 60 cm of the surface. The grass spreads along the ground with stolons and roots at nodes, forming a dense mat. It reproduces through seeds, stolons, and rhizomes. Growth starts at temperatures above 15°C, with optimal growth between 24 and 37°C. In winter, it becomes dormant and brown.
It thrives in full sun but is hindered by full shade.

月桃 Alpinia zerumbet
薑科 Zingiberaceae
Alpinia zerumbet is a rhizomatous, evergreen tropical perennial that grows in upright clumps, reaching 8 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3.0 meters) tall in tropical climates. The plant features large, lance-shaped leaves that are glossy green with prominent parallel veins. It produces funnel-formed flowers with white or pink perianths and yellow labella marked with red spots and stripes. The inflorescence is striking and ornamental. There are three stamens in each flower, but only one is fertile and produces pollen. The plant also has one pistil. The fruit is globose (spherical) and has many striations. In typical greenhouse conditions, Alpinia zerumbet grows 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 meters) tall, while as a houseplant, it generally reaches 3 to 4 feet (0.91 to 1.22 meters) tall.
